Architecture

Here are some of the most innovative architecture in plan which not only meet 21st century environmental requirements but are also stunning in design.

V & A Dundee-  Opening 15th Sept2018

The stunning design by Japanese born architects was selected by an international jury as the choice for the V & A at Dundee.  The building has rigorous 21st century environmental and sustainability regulations in both building and maintenance.

The facade is constructed from horizontal concrete bands clad in reconstituted stone - creating a dynamic structure open to natural light and ventilation.

The band also provides thermal regulation - keeping the gallery space cool in the summer and warm in the winter.  Reconstituted stone has the qualities of natural stone yet will be locally sourced, is more environmentally friendly, lower cost and higher performance.
